09.04.2004 Domodedovo International Airport is now guarded by specially trained dogs
The passenger terminal of Domodedovo International Airport is now patroled by specially trained dogs, which easily track explosives. The dogs are breeded mongrel between an ordinary dog and a jackal.
Specialists working at a newly created cynology department with the current dog-staff counting to 5 pets, ensure 24-hour dog-patrol.
The dogs' sense of smell enables to reveal even a negligibly small amount of different types of explosives, including those difficult to detect.
Most of modern explosives are not volatile, and bombs are often not metal-covered tiny light things very hard to detect using conventional devices. Experiments show that dogs identify explosives more accurate than most of state-of-the -art technical devices.
Establishing a cynology department is a part of the security enhancing program which is being implemented by the EAST LINE Group at Domodedovo International Airport. |
