JSC DOMODEDO AIR SERVICE is the largest Russian company serving up to 60,000 in-flight meals and rations a day. The company occupies 2.2 hectares near the passenger terminal of Domodedovo Moscow International Airport; its factory and warehouse cover 19,000 sq. m.

Over 1,800 people are employed at JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE. Every one of its cooks and confectioners has the highest qualifications. The company's specialists undergo regular training abroad at leading Western European and South-East Asian food service schools.

The factory offers around 500 different main courses, cold snacks, deserts, pastries, including standard rations (hot and cold, preserved and light meals) and specialty foods (Islamic and Eastern cuisine, seafood, health, vegetarian, infant's food, etc.) In-flight meals are delivered onboard with the use of special lifts trucks thus enabling to serve any type of aircraft. The fleet of JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE consists of 79 carriage units including 30 imported lift trucks.

Today JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE delivers supplies to over 80% of Russian airlines flying from Domodedovo as well as to a number of major foreign airlines, such as British Airways, Emirates, Swiss International Air Lines, Vietnam Airlines, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways, China Eastern Airlines, Iberia, EL AL Israel Airlines, and Singapore Airlines, to name a few. To date, airlines from over 40 foreign countries and the CIS and 45 from Russia are our customers.

An individual approach to customer service is the paramount principle for the in-flight catering facility. Airlines are provided with rations tailored to their specific requirements including serving layout. Before loading on board, ready meals are placed in containers which are then checked and sealed by security officers.

The facility is fully furnished with general-duty and special equipment (cooling and deep freeze chambers). Unique technologies are applied to make sure that the food reaches the consumer in fresh and palatable state. Hot meals are prepared using the Сook-and-Сhill technology. It allows for production of meals which can be served within a period of up to 6 days at a storage temperature of -18°С. Extended Shelf Life technology is used in packaging meals for increasing product storage period of up to 5 days without preservatives or change in quality, taste or other desirable food properties. Thus, airlines can order meals not only for one-way trips but also for return flights. Additionally, the facility has canning equipment to provide for individually packaged drinks.

Respective certificates confirm the high quality of products of JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE and compliance with national standards. In addition, the company uses a food quality and safety management system based on the НАССР principles. This world-renowned system of hazard analysis and critical control points is applied to products by hazard control throughout the entire production and carriage cycle. The specific feature and purpose of HACCP is its preventive nature; it is not meant to evaluate negative signals after incompliance has been revealed. The system was developed in the 1960s in the USA under the order of NASA and used in production of food for US astronauts. Currently, the HACCP system is widely used in Europe and the Americas; it has become a globally respected food safety assurance.

To improve production processes and professional training, the company has entered into a cooperation agreement with the world's largest catering network - LSG Sky Chefs, a division of Lufthansa Airlines. Under the agreement, LSC provides consultancy services to JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE. Close cooperation with such companies helps the company adapt the advanced expertise of leading global catering companies to Russian realities.

The facility has a Tasting Panel comprising the best and most experienced specialists of JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE. The Panel is a permanent advisory body reporting to the Chairman of the Board of the EAST LINE Group. The Tasting Panel is responsible for assuring high quality of products and continuous quality improvement. For achieve these objectives, the Tasting Panel performs regular assessment of the customer's satisfaction, continuously monitors essential properties of ready meals and the quality of purchased raw and semi-finished products.

Domodedovo Airport Complex continuously develops and the number of partner airlines increases respectively. JSC DOMODEDOVO AIR SERVICE is an active participant in this process. Thus, it is not only to meet the growing needs of existing clients, but also to cater for the requirements of new air carriers. Therefore, the company is planning to expand its production areas and purchase additional equipment.

In 2007 the total area of the company increased by 90% as compared to 2005. After reconstruction in 2008, the effective area of production premises will expand to 22,000 sq. m.

Further plans provide for expanding the existing fleet of special vehicles, purchasing new production equipment including snap-chill chambers and heavy-duty elevators, and installing integrated production lines for hot main courses and bakery products.
