JSC DOMODEDOVO AIRPORT HANDLING performs operational aircraft ground handling for partner airlines. Additionally, the company coordinates ground handling operations provided by other companies of Domodedovo Airport Complex (DAC).
JSC DOMODEDOVO AIRPORT HANDLING offers the following services:
- developing and coordinating seasonal flight schedules and daily flight plans;
- aircraft ground handling on the ramp;
- supervisor services*;
*Supervisors are specialists coordinating ground handling operations and acting as a link between airlines and respective DAC services. This standard practice in Western airports - delegating supervisors with the wide scope of authority - was first adopted in Russia at Domodedovo Moscow International Airport.
- guiding aircraft into and out of parking position;
- aircraft towing and positioning at a parking position;
- interior cleaning and equipping aircraft;
- servicing/filling-in aircraft hydraulic systems;
- anti-acing and de-icing treatment;
- passenger and crew delivery;
- provision of passenger air bridges (telescopic bridges) and airstairs for boarding and disembarking;
- preparing and processing of flight documents.
State-of-the art equipment by leading international manufacturers is used in the process of ground handling operations, including:
- digital communication systems (TETRA);
- aircraft pushback tractors (Schopf F396CA, F396C, F396E, F300, F220, F180);
- Rheinmetall air start units (MSU-200) to supply hot air to gas turbine aircraft engines;
- passenger airstairs (SmartStep, FMC) and telescopic bridges (Thyssen Krupp), including twin units (first introduced in Russia at
Domodedovo Moscow International Airport);
- special ramp buses (Neolpan, Cobus);
- unique aircraft de-icing equipment: Vestergaard Elephant Beta standart and Vestergaard Elephant Beta 15 and Safeaero SDI 218 aircraft de-icers, where the operator also serves as an aircraft treatment operator, allowing reduced personnel costs.
The company has introduced and has been actively employing advanced technologies permitting streamlined ground handling operations and improved quality, such as:
- real-time vehicle tracking system (RTVTS) with GPS (Global Positioning System) technology; the system records data on movements and operation modes of special equipment in the airfield;
- SAFEDOCK - an automated aircraft parking/docking guidance at the gate;
- BRS (Baggage Reconciliation System) - a digital system for reconciliation of registered and loaded baggage.
- The company's development plans include:
- expanding BRS application area to cover baggage collection area;
- introducing wi-fi to ensure real-time access for supervisors to airport databases (to check service parameters as to their compliance with the service level fixed in agreements, previously performed operations, paperwork etc.) directly from the ramp via pocket PCs;
- full transition to resource management based on RMS (Resource Management System) - an automated airport resource planning and management system;
- completing trial use of BHS (Baggage Handling System) ensuring multi-level passenger baggage monitoring and streamlining the process of baggage tracking and baggage delivery to the baggage packing area using wireless terminals of the applied BRS;
- introducing Automatic Voice Response System (AVRS): the automated phone answering system will provide round-the-clock answers to passengers' and customers' most frequently asked questions in Russian and English.
