The security area perimeter is equipped with state-of-the-art security devices: perimeter security alarm, camcorders mounted on the control tower post, security lighting.

Modernization of the security zone perimeter began in summer 2005. The aim of the modernization project is to install the state-of-the-art security system (the so called Smart Fence). Smart Fence includes motion, vibration sensors and sensors capable of detecting undermining activities; camcorders and infrared remote detection system. The sensors communicate information to the video surveillance system using various equipment (including thermal imaging device) and informing emergency response team on any cases of illegal infiltration.
