Our History
1997 EAST LINE Group is the operating company of Domodedovo International Airport. A comprehensive ground service system for passengers and aircraft is implemented. With construction of an international cargo terminal completed, Domodedovo International Airport is the busiest Russian airport in terms of cargo traffic.
1998 Reconstruction of the runways is completed, landing facilities and systems are upgraded. An on-board catering and a fuelling facility are commissioned.
1999 Implementation of a comprehensive programme for Domodedovo International Airport development till 2003 approved by the Government of Moscow Region and the Federal Aviation Service of the Russian Federation, begins.
2000 Domodedovo International Airport terminal is opened following complete reconstruction.
2001 Domodedovo Airport was ranked Best Airport in the CIS by Airport Association, a commercial aviation association of the CIS.
2002 High Speed Transportation System is commissioned, which connects by railroad Domodedovo Airport with the Paveletsky railroad terminal where an inner-city passenger terminal of Domodedovo is opened.
2003 The first stage of Domodedovo International Airport reconstruction is completed. Passenger traffic growth rates in Domodedovo are ranked the highest among the world’s 150 biggest airports.
2004 With over 12.1 million passengers, who traveled via it, Domodedovo joined the world’s 100 leading airports. Works are launched to expand the passenger terminal, airside of domestic and international sectors have become more spacious.
2005 Domodedovo International Airport is the leader in terms of passenger traffic among the Moscow airports.
2006 Domodedovo International Airport maintains its leading position in passenger traffic among Moscow airports (overall passengers traffic in 2006 was 15 million 370 thousand people). According to ACI Europe, Domodedovo tops the year-end rating of the most dynamically developing European airports of the group two whose passenger traffic varies between 10 and 25 million passengers a year. According to the end of year results, the area of the airport extended by 20 per cent and totaled 112 th.sq.m. The number of check-in desks increased by 60 per cent with total number of 109 units.
